Project Management
Fidelity Electronics employs
a relatively new paradigm in
project management.
Management of technical
projects requires a very
detailed process that avoids
the pitfalls most commonly
seen in traditional project
management practices.
Technical projects are in a
constant state of evolution
and change. The project
management team cannot
realize the complete set of
tasks required during the
beginning or even during the
middle of project
development. Items such as
rework, testing enhancement,
and re-analysis are critical
during all phases of project
development. Without such a
process, the management and
development team cannot
guarantee a product of
utmost quality.
Fidelity Electronics
talented and expert staff
employs a project management
strategy that reflects the
technical development
objectives. As such, the
project management progress
can be illustrated through
binary components called
‘inch pebbles’ that can be
thought of as mini
milestones. These
individualized tasks can
take one to three days to
complete and are marked as
being completed or not
completed to express
project progress. This
methodology avoids the 90%
complete pitfall in which
90% complete expresses the
conceptual task completion
but does not address rework,
new tasks added with
development requirements
discovery and
inter-development analysis.
